This tour is an intermediate tour and will run on the Sunday 5th of September of the Back Country Festival.

The tour will start at the Coral Carpark and skin up and over the summit, down to Diamantina hut, and out along the Razorback.

All participants on this intermediate tour are expected to be able to fit and use their touring equipment, have Avalanche safety gear and know how to use it and be of a high to very high fitness standard.

It will be a fun day in the sun (hopefully) and run subject to weather conditions.

Cost $110 per person.

Maximum of 12 participants (2 guides)

Minimum of 6 people

 

Equipment List

We strongly recommend you bring all of the below and no more.  Its a fine line between carrying not enough and too much.  In the unlikely event of something going wrong, please ensure you have Victorian Ambulance insurance.  Most Private health funds cover it, however please check.

Avalanche safety equipment (Shovel, transceiver, probe) **Essential for every participant on every tour.

**Helmet must be worn for all descents by all participants

Toilet paper (in zip lock bag) as required

Ski touring boots

Ski touring skis with touring bindings (ideally 75-98mm underfoot)

Skins that fit the skis. (metal edges showing, check prior to arrival)

Ski poles (ideally adjustable)

Touring Bindings (check screws ratchets and function before arrival)

Skins that fit the board (metal edges should be showing)

Comfortable snowboard boots

Poles (Ideally foldable for stowage)

Avalanche transceiver
